Overview:
A construction foreman is a hands-on individual who must plan, organize, coordinate, order materials, delegate responsibilities, supervise personnel, monitor the quality of the work and sometimes handle administrative tasks. The Foreman shall also ensure that all work is performed safely and carried out to a high standard in accordance with the instructions of Moretrench procedures.Responsibilities:
Assist the Superintendent in leading and supervising daily activities, plans, coordinates, monitors project costs and productivity, as well as working with the Superintendent to overcome issues with changing and/or unforeseen field conditions. Assume the responsibilities of the Superintendent, as directed by management, when the Superintendent is absent, or unable to be present on the jobsite. Read blueprints and specifications, and translate them to project execution and action in the field. Assure and maintain full job site safety responsibility for all workers in accordance with company safety policy and OSHA requirements. Communicates clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing or via radio, address and resolve conflicts with coworkers, suppliers, and clients. Conduct weekly 'toolbox ' safety meetings; make sure employees are working safely and following all established safety policies, wear all site specific mandated protective equipment including but not limited to hard hat, hearing protection, safety-toe boots and safety glasses. Complete and pass annual phosphate training and attend all safety training programs related to job. Mathematical skills and analytical skills necessary to take and compute measurements. Being able to interpret drawings and diagrams, Designs, constructs, retrofits and repairs interior and exterior structures made of wood, drywall, plaster, concrete or brick. Maintain a clean job site including tools and equipment to eliminate potential hazards. Attend and participate in daily tool box meetings and company training programs. Must work productively and safely, consistently meet the production goals as set by the Foreman, Superintendent or Project Manager knowledge of construction trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools, equipment, and materials. Ability to read blueprints, knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in construction work. Able to carry out project activities with a minimal amount of supervision. Ability to lift objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions. Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency. Exercises their right, responsibility, and obligation to stop work when knowledgeable of job hazards. Promote and maintain a safe work environment, ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures Work safely to prevent on the job accidents and injuries, wear all site specific mandated protective equipment including but not limited to hard hat, hearing protection, safety-toe boots and safety glasses. Ability to read, understands, follow, and enforce safety procedures and prepare written reports and forms. Adhere to OSHA safety requirements. Wear mandated protective equipment and clothing. Complete and pass all training requirements and attend all safety training programs as required. Exercise the right, responsibility, and obligation to stop work when knowledgeable of job hazards. Ability to work safely in a wide variety of climatic conditions and job site environments commonly found at Moretrench job sites.
