POSITION TITLE
Plant Superintendent
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for all production functions. The Plant Superintendent assists in the development of production goals and drives continuous improvement throughout the entire operation.
REPORTING TO
Position reports to the Plant Manager.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintains and reviews production records and inventory data systems.
  • Leads production department to achieve the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost.
  • Holds individual employees accountable for performance and establishes expectations.
  • Conducts daily production meeting and challenges the team to identify permanent solutions to problems.
  • Assists Quality Coordinator during PTR trials to enable process and or product improvement.
  • Ensures good housekeeping practices are being established throughout the plant.
  • Analyzes line speed charts and develops goals based on real time data.
  • Management process review of line data worker functionality and efficiencies. Equipment analysis and suitability for application for process improvements and corrective actions. Promotes the company safety, quality and housekeeping policies through leadership and the concept of "management by walking around";
  • Team building through "tool box" meeting as needed. Works with line supervisors with technical advice, guidance, etc.
  • Establishes communication with all shifts to collect feedback and suggestions.
  • Ensures maintenance work order system is being utilized.
  • Trains and motivates supervisors and production operators to ensure finished goods meet product specifications, and proper records are maintained.
  • Understands the operation of plant equipment and entire manufacturing process to help during troubleshooting and training of personnel.
  • Ensures shift supervisors are holding pre-shift meetings.
  • Reviews monthly KPI's.
  • Follow-up to ensure Production Manager and supervisors are focused on the following:
  • Provides information at the daily production meetings regarding the current line status (including issues, causes, and preventative techniques used to prevent further issues).
  • Addresses absenteeism, including vacation planning, by scheduling manpower as needed to fulfill customer demand and utilize labor effectively.
  • Manages time of employees through time-keeping system.
  • Production paperwork (downtime, waste, mat use, seconds, QC data).
  • Ensures waste management program is being followed.
  • Responsible for production schedules and paperwork.
  • Performs other duties as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • This position requires the ability to work with a personal computer in a Windows environment.
  • Requires proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Five years management experience in a production environment required.
  • Prior supervisory experience required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • B.
S. in related field preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • The Plant Superintendent will be located at the Winter Haven facility. ( Or Fernley, NV; Phoenix, AZ; Hazleton, PA; ; or Waco, TX facility).
  • Moderate dust.
  • Moderate noise.
  • Automated and semi-automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Hot and cold climates.
  • Must be able to work around hot asphalt tanks, lines and pumps constantly
Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting up to 60 lbs. occasionally; assisted lifting up to 120 lbs., repeatedly.
  • Ability to climb stairs often and ladders periodically.
  • Ability to work shift work.
  • Visual Acuity (including color perception).
  • Good Hearing.
