Job Description
Production Supervisor We have an immediate need for an experienced Production Supervisor to join our team in Austell, GA. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and oversees our metal stamping/punch press operation. This position will also supervise employees who have a range of positions such as operating machines, set ups and preventative maintenance. This role requires occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 40 pounds. The work schedule is a 10 hour shift, Monday-Thursday with the potential for overtime on an as-needed basis. The Production Supervisor must be able to travel to and from our primary plant location in Austell, GA. Responsibilities Supervise day to day plant operations in a professional and ethical manner according to policies and procedures. Coordinate overall production operations to meet customer's quality and delivery requirements in a safe, efficient manner. Participate in daily Scheduling Meeting; recommending changes to promote efficient and effective use of production equipment time. Provide and maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment. Responsible for training, supervising, and coaching personnel on job responsibilities, including documentation and record-keeping. Ensure and verify that all required documents are properly completed. Ability to take direction as well as give direction. Ability to objectively evaluate and discipline up to and including termination of team members. Ability to trouble shoot and understand production problems and communicate any unresolved or critical issues to Plant Manager's attention. Complete and approve any needed overtime for hourly team members. Minor maintenance responsibilities on equipment. Knowledge and Skills Preferred minimum of 5 years of experience in the metal stamping industry, with an emphasis on punch press setup and operation 1-2 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing Extensive experience in the use of measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers and gauges). Strong problem solving skills Strong communication skills
