Job Description

Production Manager Position Summary The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant production of high-quality products. This role supervises production personnel, monitors performance against production schedules, enforces current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and drives continuous improvement initiatives. The Production Manager serves as a key link between production staff and management, ensuring operations align with company objectives and regulatory requirements. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Supervise daily manufacturing operations, including staff scheduling, workflow coordination, and production line oversight. Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with cGMP and applicable regulatory standards. Train, coach, and mentor production employees to ensure proper execution of manufacturing processes and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Monitor production schedules, resource utilization, and output to meet operational goals and timelines. Review and approve batch records, logs, and production documentation for accuracy and completeness. Partner with Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams to resolve deviations, discrepancies, and out-of-specification results. Support investigations, CAPAs (Corrective and Preventive Actions), and root cause analysis activities. Promote and enforce workplace safety practices while maintaining a clean and compliant manufacturing environment. Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resources. Ensure equipment is maintained in a validated, calibrated, and operational condition. Participate in audits, inspections, and cross-functional meetings related to production activities. Perform other duties as assigned. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, nutraceutical, cosmetic, food, or other GMP-regulated manufacturing environment. At least 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience. Strong understanding of cGMP manufacturing processes, documentation practices, and compliance requirements. Experience supporting regulatory inspections and audits preferred. Key Competencies Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills. Working knowledge of cGMP, GDP, and manufacturing compliance requirements. Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with ERP or manufacturing systems preferred. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
