Production Supervisor Advanced Steel Technology (AST) | Rome, GA Lead a Team. Drive Production. Build Excellence. Advanced Steel Technology (AST) is looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to lead our manufacturing team in a fast-paced steel fabrication environment. If you are a hands-on leader who thrives on improving productivity, developing employees, maintaining quality, and creating a safe workplace, we'd love to hear from you. As a Production Supervisor, you will oversee daily operations across multiple manufacturing departments, ensuring products are produced safely, efficiently, on time, and to the highest quality standards. What You'll Do Lead and supervise production teams in shipping, bending, beveling, machining, straightening, and welding operations. Plan daily production schedules and adjust priorities to meet customer demands and production goals. Assign and reassign employees to maximize productivity and equipment utilization. Train, coach, and develop employees while building a strong cross-trained workforce. Monitor quality standards and ensure compliance with company specifications and procedures. Troubleshoot production issues and provide technical support for machinery, tooling, and manufacturing processes. Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering and other departments to coordinate workflow and improve efficiencies. Drive continuous improvement by reducing setup times, improving production methods, and minimizing waste. Maintain inventory and control of departmental materials, tooling, fixtures, and equipment. Conduct safety meetings, investigate incidents, enforce PPE requirements, and promote a strong safety culture. Perform performance evaluations, administer company policies, and support employee development. Prepare production reports, quality metrics, and departmental performance summaries. Operate forklifts and overhead cranes as needed. What We're Looking For Previous experience supervising employees in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and hold employees accountable. Knowledge of steel fabrication, machining, welding, or related manufacturing processes preferred. Understanding of manufacturing principles, production scheduling, quality systems, and continuous improvement. Experience interpreting work orders, production schedules, and manufacturing documentation. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment. Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification). Experience operating an overhead crane is preferred.
