Our fleet includes everything from small generators and concrete saws to skid loaders, forklifts, concrete pumps, and crane trucks. The Opportunity We're looking for an experienced, hands-on mechanic ready to step into a Working Shop Foreman role at our Cedar Rapids location. This is a leadership position where you'll still be actively turning wrenches while guiding and developing technicians. Whether you're already in a supervisory role or an experienced technician ready for the next step, we're open to the right person. We also invest in our people—paid training is available through in-house programs and manufacturer service schools.

• What You'll Do As a Working Shop Foreman, you will:
• Lead, mentor, and train shop technicians while working alongside them
• Coordinate work scheduling with the Branch Manager
• Diagnose and repair diesel, hydraulic, and small-engine equipment
• Use diagnostic tools, service manuals, and technical bulletins to troubleshoot effectively
• Ensure all safety procedures are followed in the shop
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation (CDL, logs, time sheets, etc.)
• Operate equipment as needed for diagnostics and repairs
• Continuously develop your technical skills through training and experience

• What We're Looking For Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience with diesel, hydraulic, or construction equipment repair
• Prior foreman or supervisory experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals (print and digital)
• Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills

Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs
• Valid Driver's License (CDL preferred or obtained)
• Must provide your own hand tools
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical (paid by Star Equipment)
