This position does not offer visa sponsorship now or in the future. We are seeking an experienced Team Lead to support manufacturing operations for one of our reputable clients in Dubuque, Iowa. This position is responsible for leading production employees, supporting daily manufacturing goals, and maintaining strong performance across safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have previous leadership experience within a unionized manufacturing environment and be comfortable managing employees, making staffing decisions, addressing performance concerns, and supporting a fast-paced shop floor operation. Key Responsibilities Lead and monitor employee and department performance across safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency. Manage daily staffing and employee movement across the production line to meet operational and production needs. Ensure employees have the appropriate training, work instructions, and tooling to successfully perform their jobs. Promote a positive employee environment through regular communication, feedback, coaching, and engagement. Address performance or policy concerns and take corrective action when appropriate. Lead safety initiatives, including safety communications, near-miss reporting, risk assessments, and corrective actions. Oversee production activities to ensure manufactured products meet established quality requirements. Support 5S, Continuous Improvement, manpower planning, and operating budget goals. Collaborate across functions including Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Management, Material Control, Human Resources, and Labor Relations. Help drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Required Qualifications 2+ years of experience in a unionized manufacturing environment. 1+ year of experience with manufacturing and quality management principles, tools, and processes. Previous team leadership or employee coordination experience. Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to make sound decisions in high-pressure and time-sensitive manufacturing environments. Comfortable having difficult employee conversations and enforcing company policies, procedures, and work rules. Experience working cross-functionally within a manufacturing organization. Willingness to work overtime, including weekdays or weekends, based on production needs. Some Saturday work will be required. Preferred Qualifications Leadership experience within a union manufacturing environment. Experience with production control systems. Shop floor manufacturing experience, including exposure to incentive pay systems. Experience within Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Material Control, or Supply Management. Experience applying Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement techniques. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, SAP, SharePoint, and Power BI. Education Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Operations, Business/Management, Supply Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent relevant work experience may also be considered.
