Area Supervisor - Welding & Fabrication We're seeking a hands-on Area Supervisor to lead a welding and fabrication team in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, employee development, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring production goals are met.
Schedule:
6:00am-2:30pm Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily welding and fabrication operations to meet production and quality targets.
- Develop work schedules, assign priorities, and coordinate workflow to maximize efficiency.
- Foster a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives across the department.
- Partner with planning and production teams to meet customer delivery schedules.
- Coach, mentor, cross-train, and develop employees to build a high-performing workforce.
- Resolve production issues, improve processes, and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor staffing, labor utilization, and resource allocation to support changing production demands.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and address employee concerns as needed.
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling tools to support operational goals. Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and manufacturing experience.
- Previous supervisory experience in welding, fabrication, metal manufacturing, or industrial production environments.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement, and production scheduling.
- ERP/SAP experience preferred.
