Position Summary:
The Cell Lead oversees day-to-day operations of a metal fabrication cell to ensure quality, productivity, and safety standards are met. This role includes leading a team of fabricators and machine operators, coordinating workflow, setting up machines, maintaining production schedules, and ensuring adherence to company procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the cell Assign tasks to team members based on production needs and employee skills Ensure production schedules and deadlines are met while maintaining high-quality standards Monitor and inspect work to ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations Set-up and operate fabrication machinery and tools as needed Train, mentor, and support team members; provide feedback and report performance issues to management Troubleshoot fabrication problems and coordinate solutions with engineering and maintenance as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with OSHA and company standards Support continuous improvement efforts in productivity, quality, and process optimization
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent Technical certifications or vocational training preferred 3-5 years of experience in metal fabrication, with at least 1 year in a leadership or lead role Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes and equipment (cutting, bending, welding, etc.) Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job orders Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and safety protocols

Must be able to lift 50+ pounds Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
