Production Supervisor (3rd Shift) Job Description The Production Supervisor oversees nightly production activities, ensuring food products are mixed, packaged, and labeled according to established standards. This role operates and monitors production equipment, maintains a clean and organized work area, and upholds strict safety and quality guidelines, including HACCP and GMP. The supervisor conducts routine checks to confirm that all products meet required specifications while providing hands-on leadership to the production team on the 3rd shift. Responsibilities Operate and monitor production equipment in accordance with company standards and procedures. Lead and coordinate the production team responsible for mixing, packaging, and labeling food products. Ensure all production activities comply with safety and quality guidelines, including HACCP and GMP standards. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation in the work area throughout the shift. Perform routine checks and inspections to verify that product specifications and quality requirements are consistently met. Support general labor and general production tasks as needed to meet production goals. Oversee machine operation and address minor issues to maintain efficient production flow. Promote a culture of safety, quality, and adherence to standard operating procedures among all team members. Communicate clearly with team members and other departments to ensure smooth shift operations. Monitor production output and make adjustments as necessary to meet production targets and timelines. Essential Skills High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Willingness to work in a temperature-controlled environment. Experience with production, supervision, or general production activities. Familiarity with GMP practices in a production setting. Capability to operate and monitor production and machine operation equipment safely. Reliability and flexibility to work 3rd shift (10:00 PM 6:00 AM, MondayFriday) with additional weekend hours as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in food manufacturing or food production is preferred. Any prior GMP experience is considered an asset. Bilingual communication skills are preferred. Experience in general labor or general production environments. Experience working with foods in a clean, controlled facility. Why Work Here? You work primarily on 3rd shift from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Monday through Friday, with additional weekend hours as needed. The environment is temperature-controlled and designed to meet strict HACCP and GMP standards, with an emphasis on cleanliness, organization, and food safety. You will work around production and machine operation equipment, handling food products in a facility that prioritizes sanitary conditions and efficient workflow. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
