Job Description

Forge Resources Group, a leader in custom short-run steel forgings, is searching for a 1st Shift Production Supervisor at our DeKalb, IL location.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the daily goals and output of the department. Manage and delegate the processing of parts, cleaning, inspecting, grinding, and packing Request PO's from the appropriate Purchasing staff for outside processing Disposition parts to the appropriate staging area for shipping to outside services or the customer Backup to shipping/receiving department Maintain housekeeping as it relates to all aspects of the department, i.e., materials, equipment, inventory, WIP Track and monitor usage of consumable items, i.e. grinding discs, belts, shot, etc to reduce cost and eliminate waste Work with maintenance department on equipment repair needs and scheduling Maintain daily production records Review daily scrap with Inspection Advise of any methods to improve production Identify, plan, and implement 5S projects in the department Effectively and positively represent the goals of management to staff Adhere to and maintain all safety policies and procedures within the department Other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequent walking, standing, climbing stairs, and bending at waist Frequent climbing on/off a forklift Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in production, manufacturing, or other related fields Knowledge of production tools and equipment Strong leadership qualities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Forge Resources Group is a Drug Free Workplace. $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
