A Production Plant Foreman works with the Plant Manager or Supervisor in scheduling the activities of the employees and team leaders. Meets regularly with the team leaders to communicate anticipated production sequences, to discuss potential production problems, and to provide opportunity for input on improvement of work processes and work flow. Assist in assuring quality and safety of production procedures.
Swingmaster Corporation is seeking an experienced and dependable General Foreman to oversee daily production and assembly operations at our manufacturing facility. The General Foreman will be responsible for leading our assembly team, coordinating production, maintaining workflow, ensuring quality, and making sure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who understands manufacturing and knows how to keep a production team moving. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate employees working on the assembly line Plan and organize daily production activities based on schedules and priorities Assign employees to specific jobs and workstations Monitor production throughout the day and adjust staffing or workflow as needed Ensure products are assembled correctly and meet company quality standards Identify production problems and work with employees and management to resolve them Make sure materials, parts, tools, and equipment are available for scheduled production Communicate production priorities and expectations clearly to employees Monitor employee productivity, attendance, and performance Train new employees on assembly procedures, equipment, quality standards, and safety Work closely with the shop, welding, machining, purchasing, and management teams to keep production on schedule Help identify bottlenecks and develop ways to improve production efficiency Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production area Enforce company safety procedures and proper use of tools and equipment Inspect completed work and address quality issues before products move to the next stage Track production progress and communicate delays or issues to management Assist with hands-on assembly and production when necessary Ensure work orders and production priorities are completed on schedule What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a strong hands-on leader who understands manufacturing and knows how to manage people while getting production completed. We're looking for someone who: Has previous experience as a foreman, lead, supervisor, or production manager in a manufacturing environment Has experience supervising an assembly or production team Understands how to read and follow drawings, work orders, and assembly instructions Can organize people and prioritize multiple jobs Has strong mechanical aptitude Can identify problems and make practical decisions quickly Is comfortable working on the production floor and leading by example Holds employees accountable while maintaining a positive work environment Has strong communication and organizational skills Is dependable, responsible, and willing to take ownership of the production process Preferred Experience Experience in heavy equipment, cranes, railroad equipment, structural steel, fabrication, welding, or industrial manufacturing is strongly preferred. Experience with hydraulics, mechanical assembly, power tools, welding, or industrial equipment is a plus. Work Environment This is a hands-on manufacturing position. The General Foreman will spend the majority of the workday on the production floor working directly with the assembly team. The position requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work around industrial equipment and manufacturing operations.
