Job Description

We are hiring for a full-time Production Trainer opportunity in Fort Wayne, IN. This position supports a manufacturing production operation and is focused on ensuring new and existing employees are properly trained to meet production goals while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and efficiency. This is a hands-on training role for someone with strong manufacturing experience who enjoys teaching, coaching, and developing others. You'll work closely with the Training Coordinator, Production Supervisors, Maintenance, and Quality teams to deliver effective on-the-job training, cross-train employees on equipment and processes, maintain training records, and help continuously improve the training program. Hours - Monday-Thursday 7pm-5am After 90 days, a switch to 2/2/3 swing shift schedule - Mon-Fri 8-4pm
Benefits & Compensation:
Competitive pay based on skills and experience $1.00/hour attendance bonus $500 retention bonus after 3 months
Vacation:
up to 80 hours based on hire date
PTO:
up to 24 hours based on hire date 8-hour floating holiday 9 paid holidays per year Medical/health insurance beginning the 1st of the month following hire Company-paid short- and long-term disability 401(k) with 3.5% company match up to 6%
Responsibilities:
Assist the Training Coordinator with updating training materials, including presentations, manuals, checklists, and hands-on exercises Train new and existing production employees on manufacturing processes, machinery, equipment, safety, quality, and efficiency standards Cross-train employees on different machines and processes to increase workforce flexibility and support employee development Provide one-on-one coaching, mentorship, constructive feedback, and performance support Maintain accurate employee training records, certifications, completion dates, and assessments Assign and document employee training Work with the Training Coordinator and management to evaluate training effectiveness and employee progress Help continuously improve training programs based on industry best practices, new technologies, and process changes Collaborate with Production Supervisors, Maintenance, Quality, and the Training Coordinator to ensure on-the-job training aligns with operational goals and company standards
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment Previous training, mentoring, or supervisory experience highly preferred Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, machinery, and equipment Excellent attendance and performance Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to clearly present information to different types of learners Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel or similar software Paylocity or similar LMS experience is a plus Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee records Trainer certification in an applicable subject is a plus Ability to stand for extended periods and walk throughout a production facility Ability to occasionally lift approximately 25-50 lbs.
