Job Description

Tool Division Supervisor Fort Wayne Wire Die, Inc. is seeking an experienced Tool Division Supervisor to lead our skilled manufacturing team. Do you have supervisory experience working with machinists or skilled manufacturing employees? Do you have experience with CNC machining, programming, CAD/CAM, or specialty tooling? Position Summary Under the direction of the Plant Production Manager, the Tool Division Supervisor is responsible for leading daily production activities, scheduling and assigning work, maintaining quality and productivity, developing employees, and ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and according to customer requirements. Key Responsibilities Supervise and lead machinists, technicians, and production employees. Schedule and assign daily work to meet production, quality, and delivery requirements. Monitor products through the manufacturing process and ensure timely completion. Work with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Sales to resolve manufacturing and customer issues. Identify and implement process improvements, equipment enhancements, and training opportunities. Review production and customer rejects, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Train, coach, and develop employees and technicians. Ensure proper tooling, materials, equipment, and staffing are available. Manage daily workforce needs, including overtime, vacations, and absences. Participate in interviewing, hiring, performance management, and employee development. Maintain production records, reports, work-in-process documentation, and other required information. Promote a culture of safety, quality, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Assist with customer problem-solving and customer visits as needed. Maintain technical skills and perform skilled Tool Division work when required. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 5+ years of machine shop/manufacturing experience. 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience. Experience working with machinists, technicians, or skilled manufacturing employees. Experience with CNC machining, CNC programming, CAD/CAM, tooling, or specialty manufacturing preferred. Ability to read and understand blueprints and manufacturing documentation. Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Quality-focused with strong attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. A degree or additional training in Business, Industrial Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Why Join Us?
