A Machine Shop Supervisor supervises employees working in a machine shop, including CNC and PLC machining. Requires experience in machining and supervising other machinists. Monitors activities to ensure safety of workers and quality of products. Analyzes job scope and engineering part prints to determine information for finished machined parts. May train new machinists, develop training, work and safety procedures for the shop.
Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Welding Supervisor to lead welding operations supporting pressure vessel fabrication. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with strong welding knowledge, experience with ASME codes and standards , and the ability to read blueprints and weld symbols. The Welding Supervisor will oversee daily operations, maintain safety and quality standards, and support the welding team in producing high-quality work.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate daily welding activities for pressure vessel fabrication. Lead, train, and mentor welders while monitoring productivity and work quality. Ensure welding operations comply with ASME codes, specifications, and safety requirements. Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings. Monitor weld quality and assist with inspections, documentation, and certifications. Troubleshoot equipment, production, and technical issues and work with other departments to resolve them. Identify opportunities to improve welding processes, efficiency, and overall quality. Maintain a safe, organized work environment and enforce required safety procedures.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Welding Supervisor , Welding Lead , or similar leadership role . Experience with pressure vessel fabrication is strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of ASME welding codes and standards . Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings. Strong understanding of welding equipment, processes, and quality requirements. Proven leadership and team management skills. Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Commitment to safety, quality, and production standards. AWS or ASME certifications are a plus.
