Job Description:
Responsible for monitoring and enforcing the quality standards of an assigned area. Communication of department and plant quality metrics. Escalation of issues to all levels of management following escalation guidelines. Implement and follow systems that prevent re-occurrence of known issues through problem solving process. Leverage resources to solve quality issues. Build and maintain good working relationships with employees, union and management. Understands and consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union. Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping. Motivate, train and develop employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods. Ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training). Able to make decisions independently with limited supervision Knowledge of basic technology and standards of area supervised Relatively high level of analytical ability where problems are complex Well developed oral and written communication skills Knowledge of scheduling, manufacturing processes, quality control standards, and other management systems High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees, and elicit work output Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required Knowledge of General Motors Global Manufacturing System College degree preferred High School graduate or equivalent experience required What happens next: Once you apply, you'll proceed to the next steps if your skills and experience look like a good fit.
