The PFAB Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and efficiency of the fabrication processes. This role involves overseeing daily operations, maintaining high standards of product quality, and implementing continuous improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs. The Manager will lead by example, fostering a culture of safety and excellence, and ensuring that all team members are aligned with the company's mission and values. Essential Functions of the Job Safety Ensure safe working conditions and practices for all employees. Ensure all areas are neat, clean and organized by conducting housekeeping walks with Fabrication leadership. Implement safety improvements including ergonomic work methods. Participate in all safety investigations within 24 hours of the incident and ensure the completion of corrective actions. Quality Ensure finished goods produced are of the highest quality. Maintain internal customer focus with a zero-loss mindset of defects to the customer. Reduce scrap/rework and maintain them below plant goals. Ensure a 5 Why and root cause analysis is completed for any major quality issue. Assist leads and coordinators in finding root cause of repeat quality issues and implement corrective actions. Ensure all processes and procedures are followed for
PTMW, ISO
9001, AISC and other certifications. Audit PTMW process and procedures and implement improvements when necessary. Assist in layered process audit questions, weekly processes, responses, and corrective actions. Production Support Daily Management Systems and support for all shifts. Maintain Fabrication schedule for production, programming, sourcing and completion to ensure due dates are met. Communicate daily, weekly and monthly production reports to the Fabrication team and Plant Leadership. Provide the Fabrication department with daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual goals. Provide data driven solutions for the Fabrication department. Attend production related meetings such as planning and daily review. Identify inefficiency in the Fabrication department and implement continuous improvements. Including but not limited to, improving workflow, reducing bottlenecks, improving material utilization, improved time delivery, reduced overhead and cost both direct and indirect. Monitor inventory levels of raw materials to ensure they are at sufficient levels. Support inventory control in ensuring materials is accounted for. Develop and maintain essential job functions, training systems for all positions in Fabrication. Mentor, coach and support Fabrication leads and coordinators to ensure their continued growth and effectiveness. Support the HR department with disciplinary issues, benefits, payroll tracking, employment levels and other employee related issues. Support Fabrication maintenance to ensure equipment is properly maintained and spare part levels are maintained. Develop, adjust and administer monthly and annual budgets related to Fabrication costs. Develop and apply hourly KPI's that support PTMW's corporate goals while supporting our core values. Be the face of compliance with Mission Statement and Core Value standards, commitments to Civility, Excellence, and Mission and Core Values. Such other duties as may be appropriately assigned by authorized Officers of the company. Bachelor's Degree or experience equivalent 5+ years Operational Management Experience Experience in Continuous Improvement planning and management including LEAN, 5S, Root Cause Analysis, Data-Driven Solutions, Six Sigma, etc. Experience with production schedules, ERP systems, inventory control systems, budgets and KPIs Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written Proficiency with all Microsoft Office products Advanced experience with Excel formulas, functions and pivot tables The ability to coach and develop employees at all levels Demonstrate a strong drive to achieve success and excellence. Maintain resilience and determination, refusing to accept defeat. Proactively identify and remove obstacles to ensure team success and victory.
