JOB SUMMARY

The 2nd Shift Paint Supervisor leads and supervises all paint department operations during 2nd shift at EQI's Berea, KY facility, reporting directly to the General Manager. This role combines the hands-on technical expertise required of an Industrial Paint Lead with full supervisory responsibility for the 2nd shift painting team. The Supervisor will maintain technical equipment and ensure it remains in working order, possessing a wide array of painting skills, while also managing the staffing, scheduling, training, and performance of 2nd shift painters. Will lead all operations including prep, masking, sanding, powder and liquid paint application utilizing HVLP gravity paint guns, as well as two component proportioning paint systems. This position will require the ability to operate forklifts to move and stage material for the production process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Ensure safety protocols are followed by all paint and production team members on 2nd shift Directly supervise, schedule, and coordinate all 2nd shift paint department employees, ensuring adequate staffing and coverage Lead, train, coach, and develop 2nd shift painters to build a skilled, high-performing team Enforce attendance, conduct, and performance standards; support performance conversations and corrective action for 2nd shift paint team members Coordinate shift hand-off with 1st shift paint leadership to ensure continuity of schedules, quality standards, work-in-process, and equipment status Serve as the primary point of contact for 2nd shift paint department issues, escalating to the General Manager as needed Partner with the General Manager and Human Resources on hiring, onboarding, and training of new paint department employees Monitor, compile, and report daily production, quality, and safety metrics for 2nd shift to the General Manager Technical /

Paint Lead Responsibilities:

Ensuring that high safety standards are met and maintained within the area Adhere to all OSHA and HazMat procedures with respect to the storage and handling of materials in the area Lead team in painting and powder operations Using schedules to maximize the daily output of lines and team Quality checks to ensure products meet customer standards Sets up jobs

•right powder/paint, right product to coat, and manages the team to meet schedule Maintaining equipment for the outlined job and ensuring that it always remains in working order Assist in the maintenance of a clean and safe work environment and observe good safety habits Utilizing different painting techniques based on the nature of the surface

•both with wet paint and powder coating Using viscosity cups and thickness gauges to measure the amount of paint to be used and the texture of the paint Removing previous paint surfaces using mechanical means Painting small items and doing touch-ups

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED required 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in a paint, powder coating, or manufacturing environment required Powder coating and wet paint experience required Proven track record leading or managing hourly production employees Driver's License (Required) Certifications for painting or body work or appropriate trade school certification (example

•Master Collision Repair & Refinishing Technician) preferred Experience painting a variety of surface types Proficiency with technical machinery Physical strength to operate machinery Diligence and attention to detail Excellent dexterity and hand-eye coordination Good organizational and scheduling skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and lead others with minimal direct supervision Ability to troubleshoot paint defects that are outside the allowable QA standards Strong problem-solving foundation and sound independent judgment Ability to work 2nd shift hours as scheduled
