Job Title:
Production Supervisor Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Supervisor to lead and manage personnel, materials, and equipment efficiently within a dynamic manufacturing environment. The role involves supporting the development of highly effective teams, leading Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes, and serving as a resource for launch and pilot activities. The Production Supervisor will ensure that production schedules are met, quality standards are maintained, and safety practices are promoted. Responsibilities Effectively utilize personnel, material, and equipment to meet production goals. Participate in training, developing, and evaluating hourly team members. Lead and support Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes. Ensure production cost schedules are met and quality requirements are maintained. Communicate department quality goals and leverage resources to address quality issues. Maintain good working relationships with employees, unions, and management. Administer National and Local Agreements consistently. Implement systems to prevent reoccurrence of known issues. Promote safe work practices and achieve ergonomic, health, safety, and housekeeping objectives. Motivate, train, and develop employees using standardized methods. Ensure team members receive adequate Job Instruction Training (JIT). Apply lean manufacturing principles to achieve production schedules and product requirements. Coach, teach, counsel, and mentor Group Leaders in their responsibilities. Essential Skills Experience as a manufacturing supervisor or lead, preferably within an Automotive OEM. Experience with union environments is ideal. Proficiency in production supervision and management. Additional Skills & Qualifications Lean Six Sigma experience is highly preferred. Work Environment The position is based in an automotive assembly department. Candidates must be open to rotating shifts between 1st and 2nd shift every three months. The 1st shift runs from 5:30 AM to 3 PM, and the 2nd shift runs from 2:30 PM to 11:30 PM. The role emphasizes leadership and delegation rather than hands-on work, with regular interactions with general assembly, quality, and cross-functional teams. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Bowling Green, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
