A Production Plant Foreman works with the Plant Manager or Supervisor in scheduling the activities of the employees and team leaders. Meets regularly with the team leaders to communicate anticipated production sequences, to discuss potential production problems, and to provide opportunity for input on improvement of work processes and work flow. Assist in assuring quality and safety of production procedures.
The Co-op Student will gain hands-on experience in a food manufacturing environment while supporting both production (if 18 years old or older) and administrative activities. Under the supervision of experienced staff, the student may learn about food production, packaging, quality control, food safety, workplace safety, inventory management, record keeping, and general office administration
Essential Functions:
Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time. Production, Food Manufacturing, & Maintenance (18 years old or older): Assist production employees with basic manufacturing and packaging tasks. Prepare materials and supplies required for production. Assist with labeling, packing, and preparing finished products. Inspect products for quality, appearance, and packaging requirements. Follow food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures. Keep production areas, equipment, and workspaces clean and organized. Assist with inventory counts and organizing raw materials and finished products. Report damaged products, equipment issues, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
Administrative Support:
Enter basic production, inventory, and quality-control information into spreadsheets or company systems. File and organize production records, invoices, forms, and other documents. Assist with photocopying, scanning, printing, and document preparation. Update spreadsheets, lists, and simple reports under supervision. Help organize purchase orders, delivery records, and shipping documents. Assist with data entry and maintaining accurate records. Support general office organization and administrative tasks. Answer or direct basic internal inquiries when appropriate. Assist supervisors and office staff with routine administrative projects. Maintain confidentiality when handling company or employee information.

Education/Experience:
Currently enrolled in a high school co-op (cooperative education) program. Junior or Senior standing preferred.
Attendance:
Consistently demonstrates regular and reliable attendance by reporting to scheduled shifts.

Co-op Students are required to conduct their work in a safe and legal manner, according to all GMP food safety standards, as well as following all compliance and The Krusteaz Company safety protocols. Co-op Students must be willing to be responsible for their safety and health as well as the safety and health of all employees, vendors, and visitors.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
This position requires working in both manufacturing and office environments. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone along with reaching. Specific vision abilities include close vision requirements due to computer work. Moderate noise, ability to work in a confined area, and ability to sit at a computer for an extended period of time are also included. Must be able to effectively communicate and work in a dynamic environment. You may also be on your feet for several hours a day and may be exposed to a variety of physical demands that require you to lift heavy objects, climb stairs, exert energy, bend, twist and squat and use tools and equipment in an indoor production environment that has a high level of food dust and limited climate control while wearing PPE.
