Position Overview:

We are actively seeking an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor for a respected local manufacturing client. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong CNC machining knowledge who can lead by example while supervising daily shop operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with CNC mills, lathes, and Mazak equipment, along with the ability to motivate a team, manage workflow, and maintain production standards. This is a working supervisor role, meaning the selected candidate must be comfortable operating machinery, assisting with setups, troubleshooting issues, and supporting the team on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise daily operations of the machine shop and lead production staff Assign workloads and prioritize jobs to meet production deadlines Operate and assist with setup of CNC mills and lathes, specifically Mazak machines Perform machine setups including tooling changes, offsets, and program adjustments Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and production issues as they arise Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and specifications Ensure parts are produced within tight tolerances and quality standards Inspect first-run parts and approve production runs Train, mentor, and develop machinists and operators Enforce safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized shop environment Monitor productivity, attendance, and overall team performance Coordinate with management regarding scheduling, priorities, and shop needs Complete production documentation and reports as required Requirements (Must Meet All): Proven experience in a machine shop leadership or supervisory role Strong hands-on CNC machining background Extensive Mazak machine experience required Ability to independently perform machine setups and troubleshoot operations Strong blueprint reading and precision measuring skills Experience holding tight tolerances and quality standards Ability to lead, motivate, and hold employees accountable Reliable transportation and strong attendance record Strong communication and organizational skills Please do not apply if you do not have Mazak experience.
