Our award-winning Construction Group is constantly expanding the scope of its capabilities. It currently specializes in transportation, petrochemical, power, commercial, residential, and ports and rail projects. Position Summary The Heavy Civil Foreman is a mid-level leadership position that reports to the Superintendent. This role is responsible for coordinating, directing, and overseeing daily field operations on heavy civil construction projects. Candidates may have experience in base work, concrete construction, utility installation, or a combination of these disciplines. The Heavy Civil Foreman is responsible for ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications and quality standards. This position provides leadership to crews, coordinates equipment and material needs, and works closely with project management and supervisory personnel to support successful project execution. Duties and Responsibilities 40% Management Provides management and oversight for all decisions regarding asphalt paving projects, personnel, equipment, problem resolutions, and overall effectiveness of projects. Monitor labor, haul, equipment production, and cost for each project. Plans and coordinates production on a daily basis and plans work approximately 1 week in advance.Ensures all timesheets are entered and audited accurately. Plan, assign, coordinate, and evaluate crews. Interpret company policies for workers and enforces safety regulations. Lead daily Task Analysis Review (TAR) meeting the with crew before the start of the shift. 30% Operations Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment. Maintains accurate record-keeping of projects. Leads and tracks production. Inspects equipment ensure operators maintain equipment and document usage. Inspects work areas to determine the type of work required and the materials and equipment used. Interprets job orders to workers and assigns duties. Trains and mentors' new employees. 25% Safety Ensure the safety of the crew and the public. Comply with all safety initiatives, protocols, and procedures. 5% Other Other duties as assigned as needed Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in heavy civil construction. Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory, leadman, or foreman role. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and grades. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safe work practices. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to coordinate crews, equipment, and materials to meet production goals. Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel to project sites as needed. Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
