Structural Fabrication Supervisor -

Oil & Gas Position Summary:

The Structural Fabrication Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating structural fabrication activities supporting oil & gas and natural gas compression equipment. This position oversees the fabrication of skids, platforms, guards, and related structural components while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with engineering specifications, welding procedures, quality standards, and production schedules. The supervisor will lead fabrication personnel, coordinate daily labor and workflow, and work closely with Engineering and Quality to resolve technical and production issues and maintain on-time delivery. Key Responsibilities Supervise daily structural fabrication activities for oil & gas and natural gas compression equipment. Lead the fabrication of structural skids, platforms, guards, supports, and related components. Plan and assign manpower based on production requirements, schedules, employee skills, and workload. Coordinate daily production activities to maintain workflow and meet project and delivery schedules. Review engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, and fabrication requirements with shop personnel. Ensure fabrication activities follow approved welding procedures, specifications, and applicable quality requirements. Monitor welding, fitting, layout, fit-up, and dimensional accuracy throughout the fabrication process. Coordinate with Engineering and Quality to address drawing discrepancies, fabrication issues, weld quality concerns, and nonconforming work. Assist with production scheduling, labor planning, resource allocation, and prioritization of work. Ensure required materials, tooling, equipment, and personnel are available to support production. Monitor productivity, workmanship, attendance, and progress against established schedules. Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve production efficiency and throughput. Train, coach, and provide direction to welders, fitters, and other fabrication personnel. Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company HSE requirements and PPE standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient fabrication environment. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 3+ years of experience in structural fabrication, welding, or fitting within an industrial, oil & gas, or natural gas compression environment. Previous supervisory or lead experience in a fabrication environment. Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication and welding processes. Experience fabricating skids, platforms, guards, supports, or similar structural assemblies. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and fabrication specifications. Working knowledge of welding procedures and quality requirements. Understanding of production scheduling, manpower planning, and shop workflow. Ability to effectively coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Work Environment This position works in an industrial fabrication environment with exposure to welding and cutting operations, heavy structural components, overhead cranes, industrial equipment, elevated noise levels, and varying indoor and outdoor conditions. The position may require occasional work at elevated heights or in confined spaces. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, stoop, and reach as required. Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when necessary. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently. Ability to wear required PPE and comply with all applicable safety requirements.

Pay:

$34.00 - $37.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 60.0 per week
