This pivotal role involves overseeing the manufacturing of metal components, ensuring adherence to safety standards, quality specifications, and project timelines. $35/hour Weekly pay by direct deposit Work schedule: Monday through Friday working day shifts. Responsibilities Supervise daily fabrication shop activities, including cutting, welding, assembly, and finishing of metal components. Read and interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to ensure precise fabrication according to specifications. Oversee the use of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math to maintain accuracy in manufacturing. Manage welding operations utilizing various techniques including FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), ensuring compliance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Coordinate with construction teams to facilitate seamless project execution on-site and in-shop. Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and company policies across all shop activities. Train and mentor shop personnel on proper use of hand tools, power tools, machining equipment, plasma cutters, and measuring devices. Maintain inventory of metal materials such as sheet metal and other fabrication supplies; oversee procurement as needed. Ensure quality control by inspecting finished products for dimensional accuracy and structural integrity. Document production progress, report issues promptly, and implement process improvements for efficiency. Requirements Proven experience (3 - 5 years minimum) in fabrication shop environments with a focus on piping, plumbing, and management for metal fabrication and construction site projects. Extensive knowledge of welding techniques including
FCAW, MIG, TIG, SMAW
; familiarity with gas metal arc welding (GMAW) is preferred. Skilled in blueprint reading and mechanical blueprint interpretation for complex assemblies. Proficiency with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise fabrication. Strong understanding of construction processes related to ductwork, structural steel, or similar projects. Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, machining equipment, plasma cutters, and other fabrication machinery safely. Familiarity with safety protocols aligned with OSHA standards; commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Mechanical knowledge covering materials handling, assembly procedures, and manufacturing best practices. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to coordinate teams effectively in a fast-paced environment. Basic math skills necessary for shop calculations; experience with mechanical or manufacturing software is a plus.
