Schedule:
Full-Time | 1st shift (M-F 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM) Sealed Air is hiring a hands-on, results-driven Team Performance Lead (TPL) to supervise our metal fabrication department within our equipment manufacturing facility in Ayer, MA. This leadership role is ideal for an experienced metal manufacturing professional who thrives in a fast-paced production environment. The TPL oversees daily fabrication operations, supports performance goals, ensures safety compliance, and drives continuous improvement initiatives. When the Fabrication Manager is unavailable, this role assumes full departmental responsibility. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise across all phases of metal fabrication, along with leadership skills to guide team performance in safety, quality, attendance, and productivity. Key Responsibilities Department Leadership & Operations Direct and manage all aspects of metal fabrication under the guidance of the Fabrication Manager Lead daily operations in partnership with the Management team to achieve performance targets Assign, prioritize, and follow up on work orders Communicate production priorities clearly to ensure timely completion Open and close the facility as needed Provide leadership across personnel, equipment, materials, and processes to resolve operational issues Team Development & Performance Management Train fabrication employees and promote team morale Monitor team and individual performance metrics Take corrective action when goals related to attendance, safety, productivity, or quality are not met Maintain professional standards and positive workplace culture Equipment & Maintenance Oversight Troubleshoot fabrication machinery and equipment Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules Coordinate third-party service vendors Schedule equipment maintenance Compile equipment inventories and recommend replacements Vendor & Budget Management Source and negotiate pricing with new vendors Approve invoices and oversee department purchasing using SAP Concur Assist with departmental budget management and cost control Order parts and equipment while maintaining inventory accuracy Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with all safety protocols including LOTO, Electrical Safety, Forklift Safety, and company-mandated safety programs Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment Report issues, conduct root cause analysis, implement action plans, and follow up with the Fabrication Manager, Safety Manager, and Director of Operations Administrative & Communication Duties Communicate effectively with all levels of site leadership Work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications Required Minimum 5 years of metal fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment High School Diploma or GED Experience working in a manufacturing facility Ability to lift up to 40 lbs Ability to work 40+ hours per week (Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM; overtime as needed) Ability to speak, read, and write English Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with a strong work history Nice to Have Technical or Associate's Degree Metal fabrication manufacturing experience Experience with SAP Concur Experience with ADP payroll Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability Experience conducting root cause analysis Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety Additional Information Requisition id: 54036
