This role will lead and facilitate Lean Implementation efforts in the work areas while providing instruction and training to team employees for maximum efficiency and their personal success. The manager will be responsible for accomplishing department goals and metrics and scheduling including supervision, job selection and placement of personnel within their departments or across the plant. The manager will support Tegra Medical company objectives while working with other functional areas and businesses within the plant. Role and Responsibilities Manage Manufacturing Operations Lead NCR and CAPA resolution throughout the manufacturing department Drive continuous improvement efforts within groups of responsibility with favorable impact Manufacturing operations. Metrics should be measurable, tangible and sustainable and include use or development of systems, i.e., Shop Floor Connect, and engagement of teams. Spawn and support improvement projects, provide guidance on direction, timelines and measurable/implementable changes as needed. Ability to coordinate activities and communicate and plan to support. Lead Supervision and employees to meet performance objectives in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. Supervise a manufacturing work team; assure customer expectations are consistently satisfied; products and services always meet quality specs and resources are utilized to provide cost-effective solutions. Lead a strong safety culture. Adjust changes in workload, resources or priorities by reallocating resources when necessary. Provide coaching including candid and timely Employee Performance Planning Review and Discussion. Provide opportunities to meet developmental needs of employees and improve capacities and throughput. Improve flow through the factory by processing jobs per milestone schedules. Foster department to department and shift to shift communication. Host Gemba walks and regular department communication meetings. Oversee cGMP and training requirements and implementation. Ensure Preventative Maintenance is planned and performed. Support
NCR & CAPA
system with assistance from management, quality and engineering. Escalate department needs for maintenance, engineering, quality and other support as needed. Oversee consumables usage and ordering, tooling & fixturing, and job preparation. Work with management and other functional groups to solve problems such as workflow, quality issues, delivery issues, and manufacturing cost issues. Compliance with all documented procedures in the Tegra Medical Quality Management System. All other duties as required to support the team and organization. Qualifications Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of standard office equipment. Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and coworkers is crucial. Machining knowledge for supporting work centers. Strong working knowledge of precision inspection tools. Be an effective and contributing team member by leading and establishing cooperative/positive working relationships at all levels of the organization. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally within all levels of Company and outside customers. Ability to take direction and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment. Ability to listen actively to others. Make "tough" or unpopular decisions when necessary. Confront people's issues and resolve conflicts in a timely manner. Ability to solicit and accept feedback, implementing changes where necessary. Ability to manage a team effectively includes conflict resolution and ownership of team performance. Ability to anticipate and respond to customer needs and expectations with a sense of urgency. Keep abreast of technological information to help others resolve problems. Lead by example with good work habits, strong workmanship and a positive attitude. Excellent organizational skills with a commitment to meeting deadlines and expectations while ensuring overall quality of delivery and a demonstrated ability to build effective business relationships across all levels of business is required. Should have excellent technical, problem solving and analytical abilities and be flexible while possessing strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge and experience with ERP/MRP systems and be proficient in Microsoft Office. Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing concepts: 5S, Kaizen, Visual Management, Value Stream Mapping, Six Sigma, SMED, etc. Must be flexible, possess strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills and have the ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong decision-making capabilities, the capacity to handle confidential information and the ability to travel as required. Education and Experience BA/BS Degree in operations management or a minimum of 3 years supervising a manufacturing organization or other relevant experience. Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, as well as a strong quality background desired and experience with regulated industries such as Medical Devices, includingISO 13485
