Baltimore, Maryland, with daily travel to job sites throughout
Maryland and Northern Virginia Compensation:
Approximately $35 per hour (about $72,800 annually based on a 40-hour week), paid weekly Position Summary A successful, stable structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabrication and installation company with 49 years in business is seeking a Mechanical Team Foreman. This hands-on leader will supervise a small field team, coordinate welding and fabrication work, and help deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget. Per diem is available when long-term stays in Virginia are necessary. Responsibilities Lead and supervise a small team on welding, fabrication, and installation projects. Read blueprints and schematics to guide work and verify project specifications. Inspect welds for accuracy and quality. Coordinate schedules, materials, and field activities with project team members. Support construction estimating and monitor work against project budgets and schedules. Weld and fabricate metal components as needed. Train team members on welding procedures and enforce OSHA requirements and other safety practices. Qualifications 10 or more years of relevant welding and field experience, including experience supervising welding projects. Pipe fitting knowledge and experience. Strong blueprint reading skills and the ability to perform multiple types of welding. Knowledge of heat treating and welding procedures, with the ability to train others. Experience with project scheduling, budgeting, and construction estimating. Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and safe welding practices.
