Job Description

Overview We are seeking an experienced Steel Detailing Manager to lead our detailing team and manage BIM coordination for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects. This role will oversee detailers, coordinate with General Contractors, and ensure accurate, timely shop drawings and submittals. Responsibilities Supervise and manage the steel detailing team Review and approve shop drawings and submittals Manage BIM coordination (Tekla / Trimble / Navisworks) Coordinate directly with General Contractors, architects, and engineers Ensure drawings comply with AISC, AWS, and project specifications Track revisions, RFIs, and change orders Support project managers from detailing through fabrication Maintain drawing schedules and meet project deadlines Requirements 8+ years experience in structural steel detailing Strong knowledge of Tekla Structures (must) /AutoCAD Knowledge of building information modeling (BIM) tools for integrated project delivery. Experience with BIM coordination and clash detection Understanding of AISC standards and fabrication processes Ability to read structural and architectural drawings Strong communication and team leadership skills Preferred (Plus): Experience with miscellaneous metals (rails, stairs, gates, etc.) Experience coordinating with fabricators and field teams Tekla PowerFab experience is a plus
