We are seeking a skilled, highly motivated Lead Fabricator / Fabrication Supervisor . In this role, you will lead daily shop floor operations while transforming raw materials into precise, high-quality components through various fabrication techniques. You will work alongside our sales, engineering, laser cutting, and forming areas to manage production schedules. You will oversee fabrication personnel, manage fabrication schedules to meet customer deadlines, and ensure strict adherence to quality and safety standards. Our fabricators weld carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel for architectural and industrial projects.

Responsibilities Supervision & Leadership:

Direct, mentor, and supervise a small team of fabricators and support personnel; provide hands-on guidance, allocate daily workload, and foster a safe, productive team environment.

Scheduling & Production Planning:

Develop, track, and adjust daily and weekly shop production schedules to maximize workflow efficiency, meet project deadlines, and manage job priorities. Coordinate daily and weekly production schedules, prioritize incoming jobs, manage shop floor workflow.

Blueprint Interpretation:

Read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan fabrication sequences and guide team execution.

Welding & Fabrication:

Operate MIG, TIG, and FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) equipment across various metal types and thicknesses.

Machinery & Tool Operation:

Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, lasers, and light machining equipment to cut, shape, and assemble materials.

Quality & Precision Control:

Measure materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, and precision instruments to verify dimensional accuracy and enforce shop quality control.

Workflow & Material Handling:

Safely operate forklifts, shop cranes, and material handling equipment; coordinate material staging for scheduled jobs.

Skills and Requirements Supervisory & Scheduling Experience:

Proven ability to lead shop personnel, organize work orders, manage task scheduling, and hold team members accountable for quality and safety.

Welding Mastery:

Advanced proficiency in MIG, TIG, and FCAW welding techniques on carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.

Technical Blueprint Reading:

Strong competency in interpreting blueprints, welding symbols, and schematics with confidence.

Equipment & Tool Operations:

Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, press brake machines, power tools, shop cranes, and forklifts.

Math & Spatial Aptitude:

Practical shop math skills for layout, precise measurements, and dimensional checks.

Fabrication Experience:

Hands-on experience working with sheet metal, structural steel, or custom architectural components.

Communication & Problem-Solving:

Clear verbal and written communication skills to coordinate between production management, team members, and client project specs.
