Our cold-drawn seamless tube and pipe manufacturing plant in South Lyon, Michigan, has been operating continuously since 1927. From humble beginnings, MST has grown into a global manufacturing leader, supplying boiler tubes, mechanical tubes, and carbon and alloy pressure pipes for various industries. We are seeking Production Supervisors to oversee all functions of the assigned department and coordinate the daily activities of subordinates to meet production schedules and quality standards while adhering to safety and company/union policies. The open positions are for the afternoon and night shifts.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for all hourly production employees in the assigned department during the assigned shift. Assign and supervise production activities in accordance with company/union policy and safety regulations to ensure safe, continuous production. Establish daily priorities and motivate employees to achieve weekly and monthly production goals to ensure efficient, timely production. Coordinate with Maintenance and other departments to ensure equipment and product flow issues are addressed. Maintain daily attendance records, job cards, man-hour reports, downtime reports, and daily production schedules to ensure accurate documentation Mediate and attempt to resolve employees' grievances up to the second step of the grievance procedure in accordance with company policies and applicable contracts to optimize management/union relations. Assist and advise other departments as needed to maintain rapport and improve production efficiency. Recommend individuals for promotion, transfer, or discharge to the Department Manager and initiate disciplinary action up to suspension to ensure an efficient workforce.

Required Qualifications:

HS Diploma, or GED At least 3 years of experience working in heavy industry; steel tubing, metals, or manufacturing Previous supervisory experience

Shift:

Afternoon shift open position. Midnight Shift open position.

Salary:
