Supervisor Job Summary Responsible for the production, safety, maintenance, and physical plant operations during the course of the assigned shift. Directs the workforce, coordinates between shifts and departments, and ensures that manufacturing meets or exceeds customer needs. Responsible to achieve objectives set forth by upper management. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Responsible for actively supporting continuous improvement initiatives of the facility Responsible for actively managing the safe operations within the facility, as well as training and auditing employees for adherence to Best Practices while promoting a positive Safety Culture Directs and administers the hourly work force to meet all customer demands and quality requirements during the course of the assigned shift Responsible to review, execute, and manage production schedules as necessary to meet daily production and shipping requirements Responsible for the appearance and good housekeeping standards throughout the facility Responsible to train and ensure that employees adhere to all safety standards, wear required PPE, conform to quality standards, follow environmental requirements, and meet production expectations Coordinate efforts between departments to ensure that customer requirements are met by manufacturing Adheres to and complies with the current labor contract, company established work rules, regulations, and procedures Actively participate and comply with budget control and forecast activities Develops and maintains active cost, scrap, and process improvement programs to improve the company's financial position Document and maintain daily department metrics Administer company policies, attendance expectations, work rules, and applicable labor agreement provisions consistently and fairly. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe department and ensure good housekeeping practices are sustained throughout the shift. Maintain general housekeeping and orderly work area(s) Maintain regular, reliable and punctual attendance at the worksite for the duration of scheduled shifts, including required overtime Understand and comply with all company policies, procedures, rules and standards Maintain professional, cooperative, respectful and ethical conduct when interacting with coworkers, customers, vendors and the public Meet established productivity, quality, accuracy and performance standards while completing assigned work in a timely manner Effectively and consistently support the company mission, vision and values Responsible for all other duties, procedures and instructions as required by the job function, or as assigned, to meet organizational needs Qualifications Education and Experience Minimum 7 years experience in Manufacturing with 5 years in a Supervisory position Skills and Abilities Requires the ability to solve math problems (addition, subtractions, multiplication, and division) Fluent in written and oral English and the ability to effectively communicate to others Organizational skills including knowledge of production schedules The ability to type using a personal computer to complete daily, weekly, and/or monthly reports General knowledge of Six Sigma concepts, Lean Manufacturing concepts, and ISO or QS 9000 Certifications or Licenses None Working Conditions This position primarily operates in a professional office setting. This role may occasionally travel for business purposes.
