Job Summary The Engineering Technician Supervisor is the primary, hands-on leader responsible for the daily execution and performance of their team in safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) metrics. This role focuses on direct engagement and reinforcement of company standards, developing the technical capability of team members, and driving daily execution through consistent application of management operating systems (i.e. MDI). The Supervisor is responsible for training, coaching, and maintaining a disciplined, safe, and productive work environment. Essential DutiesResponsibilities As an Engineering Technician Supervisor, you will:
Daily ExecutionStandards:
Drive daily execution by setting clear expectations for safety, quality, and output. Conduct daily performance check-ins (i.e. MDI) and ensure the team adheres to standard work, quality standards, and all safety protocols.
TrainingCoaching:
Provide consistent, hands-on training and coaching to team members to develop technical proficiency and adherence to quality standards. Reinforce standards and immediately address deviations.
Performance Management:
Monitor individual and team performance against key metrics (SQDC). Provide timely, constructive feedback, address minor conflicts, and document performance issues in collaboration with management. Continuous Improvement (CI): Actively participate in and support continuous improvement activities (i.e. 5 Whys, basic problem-solving) by engaging the team and ensuring implementation of solutions on the floor.
Communication:
Serve as the primary communication link between management and the team. Ensure all relevant information (goals, changes, company news) is clearly communicated and understood.
StaffingReadiness:
Manage daily staffing assignments, authorize shift overtime as needed, and ensure necessary resources and materials are available for efficient work execution.
Job SkillsQualifications:
A.S. in Drafting, Design Technology, or related field Minimum of 6 years relevant work experience
