The Production Manager is responsible for driving performance, continuous improvement activities, and clear and consistent communication across shifts. The position is responsible for maintaining a safe and cost- effective operation that meets quality standards. This position serves as the point person for coordinating trials, documenting processes, and adherence to procedures and best practices. The Production Manager provides leadership, manages facility resources, and meets established quality, regulatory, profitability and strategic goals.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.- Comprehend and support the vision and strategy for Manufacturing department
- Consistent support of policies and procedures with hourly production partners, Manufacturing Coaches and Team/Quality Leads
- Implementation of the standards, practices, and programs of safety and health management process. This includes accident reporting, investigation, primary cause analysis, corrective action, implementation, and follow up
- Ensure communication processes are available to clearly exchange information across all the shifts
- Identify and provide the training tools and resources needed to address the current training gaps. Develop a skilled workforce both from a management and operations level.
- Create and maintain a standardized documentation process.
- Provide a comprehensive Process Improvement Program, using Lean / Six Sigma problem solving techniques,that incorporates best in class practices for production, quality and safety.
- Confirm labor performance is maximized and customer service objectives are being met.
- Oversee work center quality initiatives and communicate and recommend solutions to identified issues.
- Support culture and values by promoting communication, teamwork, and respectful treatment of all individuals. Communicate with hourly partners and associates on each shift to ensure a constant exchange of ideas, concerns, and information and provide constructive feedback.
- Hold the production team accountable to meet performance metrics.
- Development and communication of weekly staffing and overtime needs.
- Ensure daily SAP entries and confirmations are accurate.
- Insure resources are in place to complete the monthly financial closing.
- Support the maintenance work order/PM program and TPM initiatives.
- Review annual performance reviews to insure fairness and consistency between all shifts.
- Ensure housekeeping and 5S initiatives are being maintained.
- Involvement with special projects as assigned by the Plant Manager.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in management is preferred
- Proven performance with strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Very strong computer skills required: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; SAP experience highly preferred
- Superior problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and supervise a team
- Strong detail orientation and attention to detail
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
- Knowledge of manufacturing

- Occasional standing, sitting, walking, and talking on the phone
- Schedule flexibility to include weekend and after-hours workload
- Some travel required to the customer headquarters/stores or off-site offices
