This position reports to:
Operations Manager __ Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a team within a fabrication unit to execute production processes, transforming parts and raw materials into ABB products in a timely and cost-effective manner. Each day, you will ensure continuous and efficient operation in accordance with volumes, schedules, procedures, drawings, and quality and safety standards and policies. You will also showcase your expertise by organizing and allocating resources to meet line production targets effectively and efficiently. The work model for the role is: #LI-onsite This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions in Mebane, NC. You will be mainly accountable for: Ensure efficient and cost-effective production results that meet KPI targets through the coordination and management of equipment, personnel, and production processes Drive safe working culture and ensure team adheres to HSE guidelines. Reviews organizational effectiveness and performs competence assessments and continuous skill upgrades. Respond to resource issues as necessary. Lead capacity planning and resource optimization for the assigned unit or line. Ensuring that production scheduling and production plan meet the volume requirements agreed upon in the demand plan and defined inventory service levels. Identifying deficiencies in production area, proposing improvement activities, and overseeing implementation of actions to improve production performance. Managing the resolution of critical product or equipment issues together with relevant internal teams. Qualifications for the role Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college with 3 years of manufacturing/leadership experience or High School Diploma with 5 years of equivalent work experience. Minimum of 3 years of experience in leading in a manufacturing or product development environment or equivalent leadership experience. Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production operations and machinery, Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports and logs. Six Sigma Green Belt or a proven track record in leading continuous improvements projects preferred. Project management skills to lead small Kaizen projects. Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US. Why ABB?
