Job Description
The Packing Supervisor is an integral member of the Team. As the Supervisor, you will provide both direct and indirect leadership, responsible for the day-to-day operation of the department. As directed by your manager you will direct the Packing department Leads and your team of employees to ensure pack out orders and schedules are met. You will, at all times, reflect the values of a model pack department employee with supervisory responsibilities for training, inventory accuracy, in process auditing and the responsibility of ensuring proper process is followed by the Leads and employees in the conducting of duties customary of a Pack department associate - packing, grading, and stacking. As a member of the leadership team, you will participate in the continuous improvement activities of the plant.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Works to maintain a safe, clean, organized work environment. Promptly investigates all safety incidents occurring on shift to include damage to people, product, building or equipment. Prioritizes activities that secure the safety and health of on shift team members. Documents incidents using company incident tracking system. Assists in the maintenance of the SQF logs. Oversees the daily production and meeting of workload expectations by overseeing the Packing Department and immediately reporting any problems to the Pack or Operations Manager. Trains Pack Department Leads, employees, machine operators, and pallet jack operators. As required, communicates clearly daily priorities with Pack department personnel. Perform duties customary of pack associates to include pack line set-up and product staging, product grading, feed hopper filling, machine operation, product packing and bagging, product put away and pack line reset. Ensures that pack outs have proper labels and are packed according to Sales and/or customer requirements. Works cooperatively with QA to ensure inspections are reviewed and necessary quantity of graders are assigned to pack outs. Oversees the quality of product packed and gives instructions to employees. Reviews all shift documents for accuracy; ensures Repack Sheets are legible, accurate, and contain necessary comments.Job Type:
