Job Description

The Production Manager manages Design Mode Cabinetry's production facility in a way that meets quality standards, output and efficiency targets. The Production Manager implements systems for reducing waste and non-conformance, and staff training programs that improve employee productivity and skill development. Additionally, the Production Manager champions Design Mode Cabinetry's safety program, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and quality output.
Key Accountabilities:
Production Planning Reviews the daily production plan and identifies actions to resolve anticipated production issues. Reviews manpower and skill level requirements for achieving production targets and makes recommendations for both to the Operations Manager. Communicates the daily production plan to the Department Supervisors and reviews progress of output produced v. scheduled. People Management Works with the Plant Manager to ensure the timely and effective onboarding, training, evaluation and management of all production staff. Evaluates employee training programs, identifies constraints and weaknesses in plant staff and procedures and takes the lead in training and coaching initiatives to effect improvements. Reviews employee vacation schedule and assesses the impact of absenteeism. Completes performance planning and provides feedback for staff. Promotes the company culture and strategic goals with all staff. Production Management Examines production flow and ensures actions are taken to alleviate "bottlenecks" and non-value-added activities. Investigates material shortages and non-conformance issues. Attends production meetings and presents progress updates. Routinely reviews production output with subordinates and sets objectives. Monitors the efficiency of work centers and determines improvement programs or actions to improve poor efficiency. Tours the shop floor routinely to monitor; quality, performance, cleanliness and safety. Ensures that "housekeeping" disciplines, both inside and outside the buildings are maintained and improvements are made where necessary. Upholds all aspects of the company safety program; holds regular safety "toolbox" talks, completes incident and near miss investigations. Ensures a zero-loss time safety environment. Ensures that company rules and procedures regarding behavior, quality and health and safety are adhered to.

Preferred Qualifications:
Diploma or certificate in a relevant field. Cabinet/Furniture Manufacturing experience. A minimum of 3-5 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong written and oral communication skills in both English and Spanish. Positive "can do" attitude with the ability to lead and positively influence a team. Sound computer knowledge and the willingness to learn new computer applications. Willingness to work other shifts, weekends and holidays as needed. Must demonstrate cooperation, teamwork and interpersonal skills in working with other departments.
Pay:
$70,000.00
