Job Description

The Highway Foreman serves as the lead field supervisor responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and participating in the daily operations of the Butler County Highway Department. The Foreman oversees road and bridge maintenance activities, supervises department personnel, coordinates equipment and material resources, enforces safety standards, and ensures efficient delivery of public services. The position requires a highly skilled leader who can effectively balance personnel management, operational planning, equipment oversight, emergency response, and public relations. The Foreman acts as the primary field representative of the Highway Department and assists the Highway Superintendent in implementing departmental goas, policies, and strategic initiatives. This position is subject to Veteran's Preference as required by Nebraska law.
