Job Description

A manufacturer in Irvington, NJ is looking for an Assistant Production Manager to oversee daily operations of the plant from production, planning and manufacturing aspects. The ideal candidate will assist in coordinating daily manufacturing activities, maintaining quality standards, and implementing safety protocols. Monday-Friday, start time 6:30am; 2 Saturdays/month 6am-12p Salary starts at $130,000/year, commensurate with experience Annual bonus opportunity
What You Will Do:
Plan, organize, direct, and run day-to-day operations Increase production, capacity and flexibility while maintaining current quality standards Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions Hire, manage and develop plant staff Commit to plant safety procedures Assist in monitoring equipment performance, identifying maintenance needs, and liaising with maintenance teams for repairs or upgrades. Purchase needed production supplies. Support the implementation of process improvements aimed at enhancing productivity and safety within the production line.
Qualifications:
Engineering degree highly desired. Bilingual Spanish required. 3+ years experience in manufacturing environments, including supervisory experience. Prior hands-on experience working on the production floor a plus. Experience with ERP systems. Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to production facilities, including PPE requirements. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and process adherence. Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members across departments. Proactive problem-solving abilities to address operational issues promptly and safely.
