Job Description
Production Supervisor - Core Functions and Responsibilities The primary responsibility of the Production Supervisor is to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe manufacturing operations while maintaining product quality and minimizing waste or rework. This involves organizing workflows, managing personnel, and coordinating with various departments to achieve daily production goals. 1. Production Planning & Coordination Ensure production materials are ordered, received, and verified ahead of schedule. Coordinate daily production targets, output, and shift planning. Monitor & record workflow and machine efficiency, including speed, downtime, and root cause analysis. Ensure proper placement and scanning of raw material and finished goods pallets. Evaluate production stations for process improvements and reduction of waste. 2. Team & Operations Management Supervise machine operators, material movers, and production workers. Monitor attendance and access absenteeism; coordinate and communicate this with direct manager. Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations. Organize and lead ongoing training sessions to improve skill levels and team performance. Communicate effectively across all teams and with support departments. Demonstrate regularity and punctuality in showing up to work every day. 3. Quality Assurance & Documentation Ensure QA compliance, including gowning protocols and cleanliness standards. Coordinate with QA and Line Inspectors for in-process checks and DHR documentation. Review and manage machine downtime reports and follow up with maintenance teams. Undergo QA-led training to understand product quality requirements and standards. 4. Safety, Cleanliness & Compliance Maintain plant hygiene: supervise brooming, mopping, and waste removal for the assigned rooms/areas. Ensure safety protocols, accident reporting (within 24 hours), and first aid readiness. Oversee safety posters, PPE compliance, and hygiene practices. Conduct regular inspections for debris of plastic, or clutter of fallen off products from under machines/desks. 5. Process Improvement & Resource Optimization Identify areas for manpower reduction and process automation. Ensure effective raw material and inventory storage. Monitor utilities such as compressed air, electrical connections, etc. Optimize workflow and reduce production inefficiencies. 6. Administrative Duties & Reporting Complete and sign daily checklists logs and process parameters entries. Manage noticeboards and general communication updates with your assigned team. Address additional tasks as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager. Competency Technical Capacity. Ethical Conduct. Communication Proficiency. Results Driven. Initiative. Supervisory Responsibility This position has supervisory responsibilities for the team. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. This is not a full time desk job as this position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must be able to lift and/or move items up to 75 pounds.
