Job Description
Our client, a manufacturing company located in Bay Shore, NY is looking for an Assistant Production Supervisor to join their team. What you will do in this role: Spend 90-95% of time on the production floor training, developing employees, and improving processes. Lead and supervise hourly employees, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, food safety, and operational procedures. Assign daily tasks, manage labor resources, monitor performance, and provide coaching, feedback, and corrective action. Analyze production methods, equipment performance, and working conditions to improve efficiency, productivity, and product quality. Troubleshoot operational issues, resolve conflicts, and partner with Line Leads, operators, and Maintenance to address production needs. Conduct safety inspections, identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and maintain a safe and compliant work environment. Track and report KPIs including productivity, quality, and safety, prepare shift reports, and recommend continuous improvements. Foster a team-oriented culture through training, communication, accountability, professional development, and collaboration with management and cross-functional teams. What you will bring to the role: Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Experience in a USDA- or FDA-regulated food processing facility required; experience with Raw and Ready-to-Eat (RTE) products preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and process accuracy. Bilingual English Spanish a must.
