Basic Qualifications Associates degree from an accredited institution Minimum 2 years supervisory or management experience Preferred Qualifications Bachelors Degree from an accredited university Minimum 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment

This description is not intended to be all inclusive and other related duties may be assigned. This position is responsible for day to day operations in Barberton's casting plant. Provides administrative support to department and works to ensure metric goals are met (Safety, Quality, Production). Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
: Manages the activities of assigned employees. Conducts training, recommends adjustments, completes performance appraisals, initiates timely corrective action, as appropriate (including attendance/tardiness).
Essential Duties :
Ensures the safety of all personnel working within the cast house, specifically molten metal on all shifts. Places a high priority on coaching employees by establishing suitable goals, action plans and time lines. Delegates and provides ongoing guidance and support to the employee as they complete their action plans. Act as a role model and mentor for direction and development of employees. Ensure employees have been trained adequately across all functional areas of the cast house (charging, quant, pit, shipping and molds). Troubleshoots issues interfering with production. Assists with problem solving, and utilizing corrective action measures to prevent problem reoccurrence. Follows schedule of Operations Manager and supply chain to ensure that production demands are met in the most efficient manner possible. Works to maintain the quality of the products, follows quality standards and processes and ensures product integrity. Verifies and dispositions questionable product to determine acceptability. Ensures that all assigned quality requirements are met. Approves and submits hours for payroll.
Additional Duties:
Assists with scheduling of planned outages and employee tasks. Enters work requests into Fiix System. Enters and tracks Department Efficiency using SMART Oversees 5S activities for assigned shift Assists Operations Manager and Process Engineering Manager with opportunies for cost saving initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
