Our client is looking for a reliable and experienced Division Manager to oversee the daily operations of their powder coating division. This person will lead the production team, ensure work is completed safely and on schedule, maintain quality standards, improve efficiency, and manage customer and vendor relationships.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in powder coating, industrial finishing, or a similar manufacturing environment, along with strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead, train, mentor, and develop the division team.
Oversee daily powder coating operations, including surface preparation, coating application, curing, packaging, and material handling.
Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental requirements.
Monitor production schedules, workflow, labor efficiency, and overall productivity.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and take action to improve performance.
Lead daily production meetings and support production planning and forecasting.
Work with customers and sales teams regarding lead times, special requirements, job status, and updates.
Manage relationships with vendors and maintain appropriate supplies of powder, chemicals, and equipment.
Ensure finished products meet quality standards and customer specifications.
Troubleshoot coating defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain accurate production, quality, and material usage records.
Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and increase productivity.
Implement Lean, 5S, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
Oversee workforce scheduling, task assignments, and labor planning.
Coordinate preventive maintenance for coating equipment and work with maintenance personnel to minimize downtime.
Conduct employee performance reviews, provide coaching, and handle disciplinary matters when needed.

Required Qualifications5-7 years of experience in powder coating, industrial finishing, or a related manufacturing environment.2+ years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of powder coating materials, pretreatment processes, application equipment, and curing systems.
Experience with coating equipment, curing ovens, pretreatment systems, and filtration systems.
Ability to troubleshoot coating defects and identify root causes.
Ability to read and understand job travelers, technical specifications, blueprints, and quality requirements.
Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
Strong problem-solving and continuous-improvement mindset.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
Experience with production software or ERP systems is preferred.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
