Job Description

Job purpose A Team Leader is responsible for overseeing teams of employees and motivating them to complete their job duties effectively and safely. Their duties include training new employees and providing Team Members with daily objectives and attain team member engagement to assure quality production is achieved per the customer's expectations. Duties and responsibilities Ensure all employees are working in a safe manner; 6S work area Ensure building is locked and secure during shift hours Develop a strategy that the team members can use to better reach a project's goal Assign tasks to team members with follow-up to assure completion effectively Monitor progress to keep the production on track and on schedule Manage the flow of operations with flexing team member/cross-training as needed Create and distribute reports to update the company on the team's progress Communicate vital updates, status and unresolved issues to 1st shift management Other duties as assigned Qualifications Must have 1st responder training and certification (willing to acquire if not yet certified) High School diploma or GED equivalent Previous experience as a Production Supervisor, or Team/Group Leader in a manufacturing organization The ability to develop, implement and assess performance metrics (Lean Daily Management) Effective use of Microsoft Tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Basic knowledge of company policies and procedures Understanding of safety, health, and environmental best practices Strong communication skills (written/verbal) to all levels of the organization, good listener Working conditions Standard work week is Monday-Thursday, 4-10 HR shifts, 2:30 pm - 1:00 am, half hour unpaid lunch, any overtime required scheduled on Friday Generally working in production environment. Physical requirements Sitting and/or working at a computer for extended periods of time. Must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
