Assistant Supervisor - Steel Fabrication Facility Full-Time | Career Opportunity A growing steel pipe fabrication company is looking for an experienced Operations Supervisor to assist in managing production activities and supporting the overall success of the fabrication shop. This position plays a key role in driving productivity, coordinating workflow, supporting employees, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on time. This role is ideal for a motivated leader with experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial operations who enjoys working closely with production teams, engineering, project management, and customers. Key Responsibilities Support daily operations within the fabrication facility and assist with overall production management. Coordinate production schedules and work releases with engineering and project teams. Provide guidance and direction to shop supervisors and production personnel. Help plan, prioritize, and distribute work assignments to maintain efficient workflow. Track project progress and production timelines to ensure customer deadlines are achieved. Assist with shipping logistics and verify outgoing materials are prepared and shipped as scheduled. Collaborate with field operations teams to support project requirements and delivery schedules. Maintain communication with project managers, superintendents, and customers regarding production status. Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and training employees as staffing needs grow. Reinforce company safety standards and ensure compliance throughout the facility. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and overall shop performance. Complete additional operational and administrative duties as needed. Qualifications Experience in a fabrication, manufacturing, steel processing, or industrial production environment. Prior leadership experience as a Production Supervisor, Operations Supervisor, Shop Supervisor, Manufacturing Manager, or similar role preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Effective leadership and communication abilities. Demonstrated success leading teams and maintaining productivity across multiple shifts. Commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and customer satisfaction. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word. Strong troubleshooting, planning, and decision-making skills. Professional demeanor with the ability to work effectively with employees, customers, vendors, and management. Dependable attendance and flexibility to work additional hours when production demands require.
