Job Description
Job Summary Outpatient physical therapy company seeking Front office staff/secretary for part time work. This position will be assisting our secretary , and job duties will include: insurance verification, tracking of authorizations, and coordination this information with our 3rd party billing company. Applicant must have prior experience in these areas . Applicant will need to have fundamental knowledge of general billing as it relates to patient statements, denials, claim status and accounts receivable. Other clerical tasks may be required . Duties Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate. Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility using healthcare claims management systems Follow up on unpaid or rejected claims through medical collection procedures to maximize reimbursements. Maintain detailed and organized medical records, including medical terminology, billing codes, and insurance correspondence. Assist patients with billing inquiries, explain insurance benefits, and provide exceptional customer service to foster trust and satisfaction. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to accurately document all billing activities and update patient information regularly. Stay current with healthcare claims management regulations and health insurance policies to ensure compliance. Experience Proven experience in medical office administration or healthcare billing roles with a strong understanding of medical coding (DRG, CPT, ICD-9/10). Familiarity with medical billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of health insurance plans, claims processing procedures, and medical collections practices. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex insurance information clearly. Prior experience working with healthcare claims management systems is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in handling medical records and billing documentation. Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and stay updated on industry standards in medical coding and billing regulations.
