Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Production Supervisor for 2nd Shift. This leadership role involves overseeing daily manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality production processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of FDA regulations, HACCP, CGMP, and food safety protocols, with a focus on efficient and safe food production. The Production Supervisor will lead a team to meet production goals while adhering to sanitation and safety standards essential in a food industry environment. Responsibilities Supervises and coordinates the employees and activities of the department/production function to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and housekeeping standards are met or exceeded. Overall responsibility of the line(s) (people and performance) Facilitates the on-the-job training and development of subordinates' skills to ensure a continued high level of production and morale. Trains new workers and cross trains associates to continue production during personnel shortages Manage lines to stated uptime, capacity and performance measurements Maintains a neat, clean and orderly plant appearance Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure work environment. This includes correcting unsafe acts/conditions, performing weekly/monthly safety inspections, and ensures all injuries and accidents are properly investigated and reported within 24 hours Facilitates communications and dissemination of information between operation/line crews. Recommends and/or initiates personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures. Provide coaching and necessary progressive discipline as needed Facilitates communications and dissemination of information between operations and the line Ensure Standards as defined are being followed for all positions on the line (Audits) Partner with Key Stakeholders (Maintenance and Quality) for SOP creation and follow through Daily reports to Operations Managers Perform downtime analysis and implement corrections to performance misses on their crew in Safety, Quality, and efficiency Participate in root cause and team problem solving events to improve plant performance Additional duties and projects as may be assigned Experience BA/BS in business, engineering, applied science or related fields, preferred or relevant manufacturing experience. 1-3 years supervisor experience within a food handling facility preferred. Excellent attendance record. Demonstrated ability to direct, coach, and train associates fostering a team environment. Demonstrated ability to plan, monitor, and schedule tasks with excellent time management skills. Working knowledge of FDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) sanitation methods, and HACCP/FSMA, preferred. Able to work independently and work efficiently with little or no supervision Ability to collect, analyze and present facts in written and oral communication Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint Commitment to
