Position Summary:
The CWB Weld Supervisor will manage welding production staff and work. It will be their responsibility to train staff and drive improvements throughout production so that the business is easily scalable to accommodate higher volume/more complex assemblies or designs.. Essential Duties include but are not limited to: Promotes and demonstrates Wurtec's core values (dedicated, hardworking, ambitious, willing to accept responsibility, and integrity). Ensures hourly team members are meeting labor requirements and jobs are completed on time. Manages hourly shop floor employees to ensure that all quality and safety requirements are followed. Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures. Must be able to become a CWB Certified supervisor. Use of GMAW (Steel) and GTAW (Steel and Aluminum) welding equipment to manufacture parts and assemblies. Coordinate weld certifications, audits, process creation/review, evaluation and testing with CWB . Design, fabricate and maintain weld fixtures to ensure quality parts are produced repeatedly in a time efficient manner Review and approve drawings by interfacing regularly with operations and engineering departments Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards. Provide support/suggestions regarding product improvement, evaluation, cost reduction, alternate component sourcing, etc. and submit engineering changes as needed. Monitor and drive teams to make continuous improvements and achieve metrics. Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures. Full-time/in-person attendance is an essential function of this job. All other duties as assigned. Technical Skills:
Familiarity with fixtures, fixture design and fabrication Ability to read engineering drawings and print and suggest improvements Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand tools. Experience working with metalworking tools. Aptitude for learning company ERP, Epicor. Strong computer skills, data entry, and Microsoft Office.

Works effectively both independently and as a team. Works in a time effective manner and follows systematic approaches and conducts appropriate follow-up. Service and detail oriented. Can take directions and provide back-up support where needed. Education & Experience Minimum 10 years experience welding, (GMAW, GTAW, steel and aluminum) Two-year college or technical degree in related field CWB certified or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months. Must be able to pass CWB supervisor testing within 2 years.
Work Environment:
This role primarily operates in a warehouse environment that is not climate controlled. The noise level is described as moderate and may be exposed to oils, fumes or airborne particles, or hazardous traffic conditions and requires the use of limbs to operate machinery. This role requires occasional lifting to 50 lbs. and requires standing for long periods of time, kneeling, neck rotation, pushing, reaching, stopping/twisting, grasping/gripping, pulling, reaching overhead, and squatting. Near visual and far acuity, and the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech is required. This role is not eligible to considered for remote work.
