Summary The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising the production process & it's employees in accordance with internal company policies, GMP's, SQF guidelines and customer specifications. Assist in training and activities related to production. Perform light maintenance on equipment utilizing knowledge of production methods and procedures, maintenance procedures and systems, and machine capabilities. Monitor and enforce systems compliance. This position has direct responsibility for food safety.Reasonable Accommodations:

Comply with & support the enforcement of all company GMPs & safety policies and procedures. Collaborate with the Food Safety & QA Manager & the Production Manager to establish production & quality control standards, & to obtain data regarding types, quantities, &specification of products. Supervise production activities & establish priorities while keeping up with effective operations & cost factors. Monitor and enforce systems compliance throughout the plant. Including but not limited to forklift safety, knife program, tool checkout program, operational systems etc. Work with HR on a daily basis to make sure staffing levels for upcoming production days are accurate. In the absence of the Production Manager may coordinate production activities with procurement, maintenance, and operations to maintain production schedule. Is familiar with production, quality control, maintenance, operational procedures, and reporting. Collaborate with the QA Supervisor and Production Manager to address and manage environmental microbiological issues. Assist the Production Manager in reviewing labor standards. Controls crewing based on standards. Explain variances from standard. Assist in revising production schedules & priorities as a result of equipment failure or operating problems. Work with the Shipping and Receiving department regarding the delivery& storing of product. Consult with the Production Manager or Manufacturing Manager relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products. Ensure that accurate and proper data is gathered and reported. Collaborate as needed with all departments to ensure smooth operations of plant site Together with Production Manager, Coach, monitor and evaluate employee performance. Complete all training for OSHA compliance, Hazmat and MSDS requirements & regulations (i.e. Lockout/Tagout, Fall Protection/Confined Space, Respiratory Protection, Ammonia Control, Hot Work, Emergency Response and Evacuation, etc.). Must have open availability to work a flexible schedule when production requires including; ability to work entire shift, extended shift hours, weekends, holidays, and required overtime in accordance with Oregon State laws. Performs other related duties as assigned.Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Minimum of three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in food processing industry required. Requires strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Bilingual (English‑Spanish) speaking and writing skills preferred but not required. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to problem solve effectively to meet production and performance standards. Working knowledge of computers and basic understanding of inventory system. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and supervisors. Ability to work and handle confidential information professionally. Must be dependable and maintain a satisfactory attendance record. Demonstrate leadership skills and advocate team concept. Ability to get along well with diverse personalities (tactful, mature, flexible).
