SUMMARY OF POSITION
Under minimal supervision, this position will directly oversee the efficient functioning of manufacturing operations in the forge by providing technical knowledge used to make decisions, improve processes, and create products recognized for the highest quality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Directly oversees Forge Supervisors and management of various technical and operational aspects of the forge and heat treatment department. 2. Ensures all Forging Operations are done in accordance with Company policies and OSHA guideline. 3. Provides expert technical advice and assistance as required. 4. Prepare necessary and sufficient reports in a timely and orderly manner. 5. Develops forging procedures and ensures implementation. 6. Ensure effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development. Recommends employment decisions, such as hiring and terminations. Resolves employee issues as appropriate. 7. Enforces Company policies and procedures. Complies with all safety rules and regulations. Performs accident investigations. 8. Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience:
4 year degree in a related field strongly preferred with 5 years forging supervisory role in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. Forging, foundry and heat treatment experience a must. All applicants must be U.S.
Citizens Skills/Competencies:
  • Excellent reading, written, listening and overall communication and comprehension skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, charts, tables, other written instructions
  • Must have good problem solving, organizational, time management, conflict resolution and planning skills
  • Basic understanding of hydraulic systems and presses
  • Understanding of Metallurgy
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Other Skills:
Demonstrated ability to lead others.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE
Contacts are typically with individuals both inside and outside of the organization and involve obtaining or providing information requiring some explanation or interpretation. This position may supervise others from time to time.
