Sheet Metal Foreman - Commercial HVAC Install Job Description This role leads the fabrication, installation, and service of commercial HVAC sheet metal ductwork and ventilation systems. You will oversee field installations, perform hands-on ductwork fabrication and assembly, interpret blueprints, and ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient completion of projects at various commercial job sites within driving distance of the shop. Responsibilities Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal ductwork for commercial HVAC and ventilation systems, including exposed duct installations at various heights. Measure, cut, bend, and shape sheet metal using appropriate hand and power tools to meet project specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan and execute ductwork layouts accurately. Install hangers, supports, flanges, slip connections, and insulation as required to ensure secure and durable installations. Verify proper fit, alignment, and sealing of ductwork to support system performance and efficiency. Perform layout work on-site and make field modifications as needed to accommodate existing conditions and design changes. Lead or work as part of a crew, coordinating tasks and ensuring that work progresses safely and efficiently. Follow all safety guidelines, site rules, and company procedures while working on construction job sites. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and ensure the work area remains clean and organized. Communicate effectively with team members and site personnel to resolve issues and keep projects on schedule. Essential Skills At least 5 years of commercial duct and sheet metal experience. Proficiency in fabricating, assembling, and installing commercial HVAC ductwork and ventilation systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and construction specifications. Skilled in using hand tools and power tools for cutting, bending, shaping, and installing sheet metal. Experience with duct installation, including exposed ductwork, flanges, slip connections, and hangers. Strong understanding of construction practices related to HVAC and ventilation systems. Ability to work safely at various heights and in active construction environments. Capability to perform accurate layout work and make field modifications as required. Reliability to work a 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. schedule, with flexibility for changes based on job and project needs. Ability to work independently and as part of a crew, demonstrating strong teamwork and communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications EPA certification is a plus but not required. Experience in commercial environments such as office buildings, medical office buildings, and manufacturing facilities. Familiarity with ventilation systems and related construction practices. Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. Strong problem-solving skills for addressing field conditions and layout adjustments. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a field-based role in commercial construction settings, including office buildings, medical office buildings, manufacturing facilities, and similar environments. Typical hours are 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, and schedules may vary depending on job and project requirements. Work takes place on active construction sites where conditions can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. You will regularly work at various heights and use hand and power tools for sheet metal fabrication and installation. The role requires adherence to all site safety rules, use of appropriate personal protective equipment, and maintaining a professional appearance suitable for construction job sites. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Boyertown, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $45.00/hr.
